Finnair to Resume Flights to Toronto in 2026 After 11-Year Hiatus
Finnair announced on Wednesday that it will resume flights between Helsinki and Toronto starting May 4, 2026. The route will operate three times weekly, with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, marking the airline’s return to Canada’s largest city after more than a decade.
The last time Finnair flew to Toronto was in the summer of 2015. The relaunch of this route represents a strategic step in the airline’s expansion within the North American market.

Christine Rovelli, Finnair’s Chief Revenue Officer, shared the company’s enthusiasm for this new chapter: “We are thrilled to expand our network in North America and reintroduce Canada as a destination. Toronto is a highly popular location and offers excellent connections, especially for our European customers looking to explore other regions of the country.”
With this addition, Finnair strengthens its transatlantic network for the summer of 2026, which will also include flights to New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Seattle. The focus is clear: to solidify its presence in key North American cities, efficiently connecting Europe with strategic destinations in the Western Hemisphere.
