Airbus Delivers 78 Aircraft in October, Sources Said
European manufacturer Airbus delivered 78 aircraft during the month of October, according to sources familiar with the matter who spoke to Bloomberg, amidst persistent supply chain difficulties. This preliminary figure brings the annual total to 585 units, leaving the company with the challenge of completing an additional 235 deliveries in the last two months of the year to reach its ambitious target of 820 aircraft in 2025.
The sources, who requested anonymity as the data has not yet been officially published, cautioned that the final delivery count could vary. Despite this, Airbus maintains its annual projection, reaffirming its commitment to its stated goals.

A320s in Temporary Storage Due to Engine Shortage
During October, the company confirmed it continues to aim for its annual target, even as an engine shortage forced it to temporarily store several already-assembled A320 aircraft, known in the industry as “gliders.” This situation reflects the pressures the manufacturer faces in maintaining its production pace.
Deliveries Concentrated at Year-End
Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury acknowledged that deliveries are “back-loaded,” meaning they are concentrated towards the end of the year. This strategy responds to logistical and component challenges that have hampered a sustained production increase.
Despite the obstacles, Airbus continues to advance towards its annual target with determination. The 78 deliveries in October represent a significant step on that path, although the final stretch will require a considerable effort to meet market expectations.
