Avianca announced this Thursday the resumption of its flights between Bogotá and Caracas starting February 12, marking a significant step in the normalization of air connectivity between Colombia and Venezuela. According to the airline, this decision follows a comprehensive evaluation of operational conditions and aviation safety, conducted in coordination with the relevant authorities from both countries.

Daily Operations

The route will be operated with daily frequency using Airbus A320 aircraft, a cornerstone of Avianca’s short- and medium-haul fleet.

The scheduled itinerary is as follows:

  • Departure from Bogotá: 07:40, arriving in Caracas at 10:40.
  • Return from Maiquetía International Airport: 12:10, landing back in Bogotá at 13:15 (all times are local).

This scheduling suggests a clear focus on both corporate passengers—offering early departures—and connection traffic through the Bogotá hub.

Regional Connectivity and Binational Commitment

In its official statement, Avianca emphasized that the reactivation of this route is part of its strategy to strengthen regional connectivity, aligned with the development of binational commercial and tourism activities.

Tickets are already available through all of the airline’s sales channels.
