Avianca announced this Monday an expansion of its connectivity with Venezuela, doubling its current offering to reach 14 weekly frequencies starting March 28 on the route connecting El Dorado International Airport and Maiquetía International Airport. This expansion reinforces Bogota’s role as a key hub for Venezuelan passengers seeking access to a global network.

Frequency Expansion and New Schedules

The airline will transition from offering seven weekly flights to a total of two daily rotations. This new red-eye frequency complements the daytime service that the carrier already operates regularly on this route.

The schedules for the new frequency are programmed as follows:

  • Flight AV122: Departs Bogota at 23:20, arriving in Caracas at 02:25.
  • Flight AV123: Departs Caracas at 04:00, landing in Bogota at 05:00.

Impact on International Connectivity

The capacity increase not only benefits point-to-point traffic between the two capitals but also significantly boosts transit options for travelers. By providing two daily flights, users will be able to connect more efficiently through Avianca’s Bogota hub to:

  • 37 international destinations.
  • 24 domestic destinations within Colombia.

Ticket Availability

The airline reported that the frequency increase is already reflected in its Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and booking platforms. Interested passengers can purchase tickets through the company’s official sales channels, including its website and travel agencies.
