LATAM Airlines Brasil has officially revealed the first images of its initial Embraer E195-E2, fully painted at the manufacturer’s facilities in São José dos Campos. The aircraft, scheduled to join the fleet in the fourth quarter of 2026, represents a strategic milestone aimed at optimizing connectivity in medium-density markets and expanding the efficiency of its global network.

A $2.1 Billion Bet on Operational Flexibility

The integration of the Embraer E195-E2 is part of a large-scale growth strategy that includes a firm order for 24 aircraft, valued at approximately $2.1 billion at list prices, along with 50 additional purchase options. Deliveries for these aircraft will begin in the final quarter of 2026, and the carrier expects to announce the first domestic routes operated by this model in the near future.

The arrival of this aircraft will allow the airline to increase frequencies, offer more flexible schedules, explore new markets, and strengthen the integration of Brazil’s various regions with the group’s main global hubs.

“We are making our fleet even more versatile to explore new markets, expand existing operations, and adjust our capacity to reach more destinations sustainably,” said Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Airlines Brasil.

Aerodynamic Innovation and Operational Sustainability

The debut of the first E195-E2 features unprecedented adaptations to the application of the airline’s visual identity, driven by the specific characteristics of the aircraft’s fuselage.

  • Greater Corporate Visibility: LATAM opted to enlarge its branding across the fuselage to enhance its visual presence.
  • Engine Branding: The livery has also been extended to the aircraft’s engines, a design element intended to reinforce the company’s connection to the travel experience through passengers’ photographs.
  • Thermal Efficiency Criteria: The design maintains a predominantly white color scheme. This decision meets operational and environmental goals, as it ensures lower thermal absorption, reduces the total weight of the structure, and promotes greater operational efficiency throughout the aircraft’s service life.

Crew Training and Technical Talent Development

Preparations for the entry into service (EIS) of the new twin-engine jet are already well underway. During April, LATAM Airlines Brasil finalized the hiring of more than 50 captains and first officers dedicated exclusively to forming the first generation of flight crews for this model. Additionally, the company has launched technical training sessions in flight simulators and supervised line-oriented flights to certify personnel already employed by the airline.

To complement this training strategy, May saw the formal creation of the first talent pool for first officers interested in joining this new regional flight division in Brazil.

Consolidating Leadership in the Brazilian Market

This strategic move consolidates LATAM Airlines Brasil’s position as the carrier making the largest responsible investments within the domestic aviation sector. Since 2019, the company has significantly increased its network capillarity, expanding from 44 airports served to more than 60 domestic destinations—the highest number in its history within the country.

On the international front, the group maintains its leadership in outbound connectivity from Brazil, linking the country to more than 90 global destinations, 30 of which are operated as direct flights. The success of this operational strategy is backed by official data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), which confirms that LATAM has consecutively led market share in both domestic and international air transport in Brazil since 2021.
