SAS Completes Fleet-Wide Starlink Installation on Airbus A320neo in Record Time
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has finalized the installation of Starlink high-speed internet across its 81 Airbus A320neo aircraft in just six months. This milestone enables “gate-to-gate” connectivity across a vast portion of its European routes, marking the completion of the first phase of its inflight connectivity program.
The installation, testing, and inspection procedures required for operational approval were carried out alongside the airline’s standard flight operations, returning each aircraft to service immediately following certification.
“Today, the installation across our entire A320neo fleet is complete in record time. Bringing high-speed connectivity to these aircraft means that many of our customers can enjoy a better-connected journey. Staying connected has become a natural part of daily life, and that doesn’t change when stepping onto an aircraft. With gate-to-gate connectivity, our customers have more freedom to choose how they spend their time while traveling with us,” said Paul Verhagen, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at SAS.

Coverage Across the Backbone of SAS’s European Network
The Airbus A320neo accounts for approximately 70% of SAS’s total fleet and serves as the backbone of its regional and European network, operating the majority of connections throughout Scandinavia and mainland Europe. With this rollout, the A320neo becomes the first aircraft type in the SAS fleet to feature comprehensive Starlink equipment.
Starlink’s technology utilizes a low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation to deliver high-speed, low-latency inflight internet.

The completion of the A320neo fleet installation coincides with SAS’s 80th anniversary, marking a step forward in its technological upgrade plans for the cabin experience.
Following the conclusion of this initial stage, the carrier has begun preparations for the next phase of the Starlink rollout across its remaining aircraft types, with additional installations scheduled prior to the end of the year.
