Beginning May 5, 2027, Lufthansa will inaugurate nonstop service between Frankfurt, Germany, and Columbus, Ohio. With this new service, the German flag carrier will become the first airline to operate nonstop transatlantic flights to “The Arch City,” linking Central Ohio directly to the European airline group’s primary global hub.
“We are thrilled to connect Columbus and the state of Ohio directly to our Frankfurt hub, marking the very first intercontinental flight from this great city,” said Dirk Janzen, Vice President of Passenger Sales, The Americas, for Lufthansa Group. “The new service will provide both business and leisure travelers with a seamless nonstop link to Germany, as well as onward connections across the entire Lufthansa Group network. Launching this route is a milestone in our ongoing expansion across the United States—our most critical market outside the Lufthansa Group’s home markets.”
Schedules, Frequencies, and Fleet
The route will be operated three times weekly utilizing Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, configured with a total of 287 seats across three cabin classes: Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class.
