Icelandair will merge with Air Iceland Connect under the same brand from next March 16 to boost the Western Nordic market, it has announced in a statement.
In this way, the commercial and marketing departments will be encompassed within the Icelandair brand and the entire Air Iceland Connect product will become accessible from the Icelandair website, both for the domestic and international markets, EuropaPress reviewed.

The Irish airline has stressed that the merger is an “important step” that will contribute to a “stronger and more streamlined” airline, with an improved transport service.
“Domestic flights are crucial for Icelanders and with this announcement Icelandair’s network, offering and fares will be strengthened. All in the direction of achieving a more personalized service,” he added.
Icelandair currently has 56 destinations in North America and Europe and its fleet consists of 25 Boeing 757s.
