Avianca, in conjunction with IATA, will launch the IATA Travel Pass application, a kind of digital passport that allows travelers to store, manage, consult and verify the results of tests required by the authorities when taking international flights.
This launch is part of the new digital dynamics that Avianca has adopted to respond to the challenges of today’s world, becoming the first airline in South America to make use of this mobile application. Initially, a pilot test will be carried out on flights between Bogota and Miami, and then gradually extended to other markets.
“For us, it is essential to simplify the requirements associated with Covid-19 for international travel and this provides greater peace of mind and ease in the procedures, in addition to guaranteeing the biosafety of passengers and our crews. The use of this application will not have any additional cost and, on the contrary, will result in benefits that will make the travel experience more pleasant and simple,” said Michael Ruplitsch, Chief Information Officer of Avianca.
The application will be available for both iOS and Android devices. It is important for travelers to download it well in advance of their flight, in order to be able to store the required information there, as well as receive the Covid-19 test result from the partner laboratory.
