New Icelandic airline PLAY said Monday that it has applied to the Department of Transportation for permit to launch services to the United States in 2022.

The application was filed on August 20 and requests permission to operate scheduled and charter services from and via Iceland.
The airline plans to operate its flights to the United States with Airbus A321 aircraft.
