The agenda of the ALTA Airline Leaders Forum includes the participation of more than 50 speakers with extensive experience and knowledge of the sector, as well as representatives of the public sector of Colombia and the region, including the official opening of the President of the Republic of Colombia, Dr. Iván Duque.
“The ALTA AGM and Airline Leaders Forum is the most important face-to-face meeting of business aviation leaders in Latin America and the Caribbean with nearly 20 years of existence. The positive response and enthusiasm we have received in this edition demonstrates the commitment of the leaders of this sector to the development of a collaborative and proactive work agenda along the entire value chain. In this recovery process, our region has great potential and we have the challenge of, together, taking the right steps to bring opportunities to all corners and to more and more people through connectivity and air transportation”, comments José Ricardo Botelho, Executive Director & CEO of ALTA.

Among the topics on the agenda are: the future of travel in the Americas and the Caribbean; what are the fleet, financing and leasing needs; air cargo and its role in combating COVID-19; green runway, the path to more sustainable air transport; best practices of international hubs; infrastructure needs; the Colombian market and a conversation among tourism ministers on best practices in the Latin American and Caribbean region, how to adapt to the new needs of travelers and opportunities for inter-regional collaboration to develop destinations together.
“This edition of the ALTA Airline Leaders Forum takes place in Colombia, a beautiful country with a mountainous geography that makes it imperative to use air transportation to move safely and efficiently. A couple of weeks ago, ALTA visited companies of the sector operating in the country and authorities, taking into consideration the existing challenges with the objective that all the actors take the necessary and urgent decisions to capture all the potential that will generate benefits for the users and, finally, for the population. From ALTA we wish to encourage joint work to develop an essential service for the population”, added Botelho.
ALTA is a pioneer in resuming face-to-face events: first in December 2020 with a technical event (ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference), with the participation of 200 people in Mexico and zero contagions; then in Dominican Republic in August 2021 with the participation of 500 people and zero contagions. Now ALTA lands in Bogota to bring together aviation decision makers in another successful event with purposeful discussions and a collaborative work agenda.
