Alaska Airlines is expanding its flights in Latin America with the addition of year-round daily service between Los Angeles and Guatemala City beginning October 14, 2023.
The airline also reported that it added new flights from San Diego and Chicago O’Hare to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo (Mexico), which will operate from December 23 to April 6, 2024.

“As the fifth largest airline in the U.S., we are a growing airline that is expanding to more international destinations. Guatemala is a dynamic new country for our customers, full of outdoor adventure, history and natural beauty. Our new service will allow families, friends and businesses to better connect between the West Coast and Central America,” said Kirsten Amrine, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of revenue management and network planning.
From Los Angeles, the airline will have the most flights to destinations in Latin America of any carrier, including up to 18 daily nonstop flights this winter to 12 cities throughout the region.
