JetSMART Airlines continues to grow in the region and this time it does so through its fleet by adding its third aircraft so far this 2024. The “Alpacas” join the recently arrived “Cometocino Patagónico” -both native species of the region-, which consolidates the ultra low cost airline as the largest in South America, with 35 aircraft that will connect eight countries in the region and will also offer domestic routes in four of them: Peru, Chile, Argentina and Colombia.
The airline has the youngest fleet in South America according to the “ch-aviation World’s Youngest Aircraft Fleet Award”, and has flown more than 25 million passengers since its foundation.

During this month, the company received two Airbus A320s from Toulouse, France, which has reduced the average age of the fleet to 2.91 years, consolidating its fleet and demonstrating constant growth in South America, which allows it to provide greater and better connectivity to all its passengers.
“With the arrival of these two new aircraft, JetSMART marks another significant milestone in its continued growth and expansion. With a fleet of 35 aircraft, we consolidate our position as the largest and most modern Ultra Low Cost airline in South America. This achievement not only reflects our commitment to innovation and operational excellence, but also our determination to provide affordable travel options to our passengers,” said Estuardo Ortiz, CEO of JetSMART.
“Along with this great news at the regional level, proof of JetSMART’s determination, we are proud to announce an exciting start of domestic operations in Colombia with the opening of 8 new routes, underlining our vision to connect more people to more places in the region. We are excited to continue to expand our presence in South America, as evidenced also by the recent opening of Ecuador as a market. These developments are testament to our vision and we look forward to continuing to bring our services to new destinations and communities in the future,” added Ortiz.
