ITA Airways is expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia, a fast-growing and strategically important market, by inaugurating its second destination in the country with the direct flight between Rome and Jeddah, which will be available three times a week.
The first flight from Rome-Fiumicino, operated in an Airbus A321neo aircraft, landed at King Abdulaziz International Airport this at 21:10 and was greeted with a water arch salute.

The A321neo operating the route is the first narrow-body aircraft configured with three separate cabins: 12 Business Class seats, 12 in Premium Economy and 141 in Economy, 12 of them Comfort Economy. Each seat is equipped with the latest entertainment system, with “on-demand” video and audio, 17.3″ (Business), 15.6″ (Premium Economy) and 13.3″ (Economy) touchscreens with low reflectivity and 4K resolution for a simple, seamless and intuitive experience.
With the introduction of the new direct flight to Jeddah, ITA Airways operates 57 destinations in the current summer season, including 16 domestic, 26 international and 15 intercontinental destinations. In addition, during the summer peak, the airline will fly to 12 additional seasonal destinations, selected among the most popular Mediterranean tourist spots.
