Norwegian inaugurated its new base at Gran Canaria Airport, as part of the airline’s commitment to the Spanish market.
This inauguration comes at a time of growth in Norwegian’s operations in Gran Canaria, with an 18% increase in capacity offered to and from the island, compared to the previous winter season.

This new base, which has three aircraft, 36 pilots and 66 cabin crew, will operate a total of 9 destinations and 19 routes during the winter season, connecting the island with strategic destinations in Northern Europe such as Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim, Sandefjord-Torp, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Stockholm and Gothenburg. In addition, during the next summer season in 2025, Norwegian will continue to connect Gran Canaria with the cities of Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm.
“We are delighted to return to Gran Canaria with a new base. Our story began here in 2007 with the first flight to Oslo. Since then, we have welcomed almost 5.5 million passengers from the Nordic countries. Gran Canaria continues to be one of our passengers’ favorite destinations in the winter season, and the growth we are experiencing is proof of that,” said Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian.
