Avianca begins sale of three new routes to the U.S.
Avianca announced Tuesday that it began the sale of three new international routes that will strengthen the connection between Latin America and the United States. Starting March 30, 2025, travelers will be able to enjoy direct flights from Bogota to Tampa, Medellin to Fort Lauderdale, and San Jose (Costa Rica) to Miami. These new services are part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to expand its network of destinations and offer greater convenience to its customers.
The routes will be operated by Airbus A320 family aircraft with capacity for 180 passengers.

The airline will offer four weekly frequencies (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) on the Bogotá-Tampa route and one daily frequency on the Medellín-Fort Lauderdale and San José-Miami routes.
David Alemán, Avianca’s Sales Director for Colombia and South America, expressed his enthusiasm for the expansion of Avianca’s network: “We are very excited to continue strengthening connectivity from Bogotá, Medellín and San José to the United States, and also to be very close to inaugurating a new destination: Tampa. We will continue to work with authorities, airports and partners to make these routes a success.
With these new routes, Avianca not only expands its international reach but also offers its customers more direct connection options to the United States.
