In response to the growing number of passengers at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) announced this Friday the opening of a new VIP lounge: The SAS Lounge by Mastercard. This new space, located in Terminal 5, Gate Area F, will offer enhanced comfort and an improved travel experience for its customers starting today.

Strategic Location and Passenger Benefits

The inauguration of this lounge addresses the need to reduce walking distances within the airport, allowing travelers to easily access lounge services. Thanks to this expansion, SAS will increase seating capacity by 50% for EuroBonus Gold and Diamond members, as well as for passengers traveling in Business and Plus classes.

Aron Backström, Vice President of Product and Loyalty at SAS, highlighted the importance of this opening: “We are pleased to announce that passengers now have access to exclusive services just steps away from their boarding gate, regardless of their destination. The SAS Lounge by Mastercard is a significant milestone in our mission to enhance the customer experience.”

A Modern Lounge with Exclusive Services

The new SAS lounge has been designed with modern and welcoming spaces, showcasing strategic collaborations with its commercial partners. This project is the result of a partnership with Mastercard, as well as with Carlsberg and Scandic, two leading brands that add a distinctive touch to the traveler experience.

Premium Food and Beverage Experience

Carlsberg, the leading brewer in Scandinavia, joins this initiative by offering visitors a selection of high-quality beverages. According to Yiannis Evdokiadis, Vice President of Marketing at Carlsberg Sverige: “We are proud to be part of the new SAS lounge at Arlanda, offering travelers a premium experience with our beers, including Carlsberg and 1664 Blanc.”

On the other hand, Scandic, the largest hotel chain in the Nordic market, will be responsible for providing a top-quality breakfast. Therese Cedercreutz, Commercial Director of Scandic Hotels Group, commented: “Our participation in the new SAS lounge at Arlanda allows us to offer an exceptional breakfast that will give travelers an excellent start to their day and inspire them to discover our magnificent hotels.”

SAS reinforces its commitment to comfort and high-quality service for its passengers with the opening of The SAS Lounge by Mastercard. The airline looks forward to welcoming both regular and new travelers to this exclusive space designed to make every journey a more pleasant and relaxing experience.
