BOC Aviation, one of the world’s largest aircraft leasing companies, announced the purchase of 120 single-aisle aircraft from Airbus and Boeing. The Singapore-based firm aims to expand its fleet to 1,000 aircraft by 2030.
The order includes 70 Airbus A320neo family aircraft and 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, reflecting the growing demand for fuel-efficient and eco-friendly planes. These aircraft are particularly attractive to low-cost airlines seeking to optimize operations with next-generation models.
A Multi-Billion-Dollar Deal
While BOC Aviation has not disclosed the total transaction value, estimates by aviation analyst firm Cirium Ascend put the Airbus purchase at approximately $3.78 billion and the Boeing purchase at $2.72 billion.

As of late December, 85% of BOC’s fleet—including owned, managed, and ordered aircraft—consisted of single-aisle models.
Delivery Delays and the Leasing Boom
Despite high demand for new aircraft, airlines face delivery delays due to increased regulatory scrutiny and supply chain disruptions. This has benefited lessors like BOC Aviation, driving demand for leased aircraft.
BOC has capitalized on this opportunity with strong financial results. In 2024, the company reported a record net profit of $924 million, a 21% increase compared to 2023.
Delivery Timeline and Ambitious Future
Deliveries of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 will extend through 2031, while the Airbus A320neo aircraft will arrive through 2032. With this new agreement, BOC Aviation has secured purchase commitments for over 140 Boeing 737-8s, marking the largest Boeing order portfolio in the company’s history. For Airbus, BOC’s total orders now reach approximately 200 aircraft.
By the end of 2024, the company owned and managed 467 aircraft, with an additional 232 units on order, solidifying its position as a key player in the aircraft leasing industry.
