Iberia has officially inaugurated its “Espacio Iberia” in the heart of Buenos Aires, offering visitors an immersive experience. The opening ceremony, held this Wednesday, was attended by the airline’s president, Marco Sansavini; Argentina’s Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports, Daniel Scioli; and the Spanish Ambassador to Buenos Aires, Joaquín María de Arístegui.
Located at the iconic 202 Florida Street, Espacio Iberia will serve as the airline’s hub in the city until April 25, providing an unprecedented opportunity to explore the brand.
An Aviation Experience Without Leaving the City
During its operational period, Espacio Iberia will allow attendees to experience the airline in an interactive way. Key activities include:
- Testing seats from the Airbus A350, the aircraft model Iberia uses for flights between Argentina and Spain.
- A flight simulator for those who dream of piloting a plane.
- Onboard menu tastings, offering a sample of the cuisine available on its flights.
- A journey through Iberia’s history, including an exhibition of historical uniforms.
- Culinary events and showcooking, featuring wine tastings, Spanish ham, and other local products.
The activities will be available Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and on weekends from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. While admission is free, experiences must be reserved in advance at espacio.iberia.com.
Events and Entertainment for All Tastes
Espacio Iberia will also host a diverse cultural agenda. Highlights include:
- Events with LALIGA, for fans of Spanish football.
- Talks with artists and personalities such as Julieta Venegas, Margarita Morfino, Fer Dente, and Valentina Zenere.
- Live broadcasts of radio and streaming programs from Espacio Iberia.
- Concerts and culinary gatherings, featuring chef Ugo Chan and Argentine cooks.
An Expanding Airline Operation
The opening of Espacio Iberia in Buenos Aires coincides with the airline’s increased capacity in Argentina. Currently, Iberia operates three daily flights between Buenos Aires and Madrid, transporting over 2,000 passengers per day.
In 2025, the airline will offer more than 725,000 seats on this route, setting a historic record. Argentina, along with Colombia and Mexico, is one of Iberia’s most connected long-haul markets.
The flights are operated with Airbus A350s, state-of-the-art aircraft that ensure greater efficiency and a 30–35% reduction in CO2 emissions.
Gemma Juncá, Iberia’s Director of Brand and Marketing, emphasized the importance of the Argentine market for the airline: “Argentina is a priority market for us, as it was with this route that we began our history in Latin America nearly 80 years ago. With Espacio Iberia, we aim to repay the trust Argentines have placed in us for so many years.”
