LATAM Airlines is raising the stakes in customer experience with the strategic implementation and renovation of its VIP lounges at key airports across South America.
Key Investments: Lima and São Paulo
The opening of the new lounge at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima is scheduled for the coming months. With an investment of $10.5 million, it will feature two independent areas—Signature and Premium—spanning 2,450 m² and a shared reception. This new facility is expected to serve over 24,000 passengers per month by 2026.
Meanwhile, Guarulhos Airport in São Paulo will unveil the largest lounge in Latin America. With an investment of $18 million, it will occupy 4,700 m² within Terminal 3. Its opening is projected for 2027, reinforcing the airport’s role as one of the group’s primary regional hubs.
Renovation in Bogotá and Future Expansion in Miami
At El Dorado Airport in Bogotá, LATAM began renovating its lounge in February, investing $500,000. Starting in May, passengers will enjoy a refreshed space with a capacity of 136 seats across 650 m².

Additionally, an expansion of the lounge at Miami International Airport in the United States is planned for the coming years. The current lounge serves international flights from Concourse J.
Santiago: The Benchmark
Since 2022, the Santiago lounge has served as the model for LATAM’s new standard: modern architecture, local cultural elements, and comfortable spaces. This facility welcomes an average of 1,500 passengers daily and remains the largest in South America. It features three distinct areas:
- Signature Lounge: For Black Signature and Black LATAM Pass customers, as well as Premium Business class passengers.
- Premium Lounge: For Platinum LATAM Pass members or those traveling in Premium Economy.
- WorldMember Lounge: Reserved for WorldMember and WorldMember Limited Santander clients.
Regional Expansion: Current Lounges and Strategic Presence
LATAM already operates lounges for international passengers at five strategic airports in its network:
- Santiago (Chile), at Arturo Merino Benítez Airport.
- São Paulo (Brazil), in Terminal 3 of Guarulhos Airport.
- Bogotá (Colombia), at El Dorado Airport.
- Buenos Aires (Argentina), at Ezeiza Airport.
- Miami (USA), in Concourse J.
Signature Check-in: An Experience from the First Step
Beyond lounges, LATAM has introduced an exclusive check-in space: Signature Check-in. Designed for LATAM Pass Black Signature and Black tier customers, it offers privacy, efficiency, and hospitality. This service operates 24/7 and is currently available at:
- Terminal 2 of Santiago Airport, near Gate 6, adjacent to the Premium Check-in (Island H).
- Guarulhos Airport in São Paulo, with similar features.
The space is equipped with tablets and portable printers for a faster and smoother check-in process. Lima Airport is expected to adopt this innovation when its new terminal opens.
“The new infrastructure, which reinforces our commitment to offering more sophisticated and welcoming spaces, will align with the Santiago lounge,” said Paulo Miranda, Vice President of Customers at LATAM Airlines Group.
Miranda emphasized that LATAM lounges are already globally recognized for their innovative design and comfort, and this expansion plan aims to solidify the airline’s position as a leader in premium international travel experiences.
