Air Transat announced this Thursday a new non-stop route connecting Toronto Pearson Airport to Georgetown, the capital of Guyana, during the winter season. This strategic move strengthens the airline’s presence in South America and addresses growing demand from both the ethnic market and leisure travelers.
Twice-Weekly Service Starting December 2025
The new service will begin operations on December 16, 2025, and run until April 24, 2026, with two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Fridays.
“With this new route, we are expanding our footprint in South America while optimizing the use of our fleet,” explained Sebastian Ponce, Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer. “This addition responds to strong demand from the Guyanese diaspora in Canada, while also tapping into a growing market of leisure travelers eager to explore new destinations.”
