JetSMART has submitted a request to Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority (Aeronáutica Civil) for the approval of two new international routes connecting Cali and Medellín to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, as part of its expansion plan.
According to the submitted documentation, the airline plans to operate each route with a frequency of three weekly flights using Airbus A320 aircraft. Additionally, the request includes operations under third and fourth freedom of air rights.

If approved, JetSMART would compete with Avianca, Wingo, and Arajet on the Medellín-Punta Cana route, while becoming the only airline offering direct flights between Cali and Punta Cana.
These new routes would strengthen JetSMART’s presence in Colombia and further enhance connectivity.
