Norse Atlantic Airways announced this Thursday the launch of its new direct route between Manchester, in northern England, and Bangkok, the vibrant capital of Thailand. The service will begin on November 26, 2025, marking a milestone as the first-ever non-stop flight between these two cities.
Details of the New Route
The Manchester-to-Bangkok flight will operate weekly, departing every Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. local time from Manchester and arriving in Bangkok at 6:00 p.m. local time. During the winter season, one-way fares start from £259, including taxes, offering an affordable and direct option for travelers.
The airline plans to assess demand to potentially expand the flight frequency.

A Flight Addressing Real Demand
Until now, passengers traveling between Manchester and Bangkok had to rely on connecting flights, an option that was often inconvenient and, in many cases, costly. With over 100,000 people traveling between these two cities annually—many of them via indirect routes—Norse Atlantic has identified a clear opportunity to enhance the travel experience. This new route not only provides direct access to Thailand but also represents a bold step in expanding affordable long-haul flight options.
Bjørn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways, commented: “We’re not just following demand—we’re unlocking it. This route has been waiting to happen, and we’re proud to be the ones making it a reality. Manchester is a key gateway to northern England, and Bangkok is a magnet for adventure, business, and culture. Connecting these two cities is a natural step for Norse as we continue to transform and expand our long-haul flight offerings.”
The direct connection between Manchester and Bangkok reshapes travel dynamics between the two cities and sets a new standard for low-cost airlines aiming to provide long-haul alternatives.
