Arajet Solidifies Position as Third Airline with Most Passengers Carried in Dominican Republic During Q3 2025
During the third quarter of 2025, Arajet positioned itself as the third airline with the most passengers carried in the Dominican Republic, trailing only the US carriers JetBlue and American Airlines, and surpassing competitors like Delta, United, and Copa Airlines.
According to data published by the Dynamic Data Visualization System of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Arajet transported 354,437 passengers between July and September 2025, representing 7.3% of all travelers who entered or exited the country during that period.
Over 400 Thousand Passengers with International Connections
Arajet executives highlighted that, in addition to the official JAC figures, the airline carried over 60 thousand additional passengers on international connections. This brings the total for the quarter to over 400 thousand passengers, equivalent to more than 9% of the total air traffic passing through Dominican airports.
This performance marks the most successful quarter in Arajet’s three years of operations, driven by its entry into the US market and the strengthening of its fleet, which added two new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
Arajet’s Top Destinations in 2025
During the first nine months of the year, the airline has recorded solid demand on its regional routes. The destinations with the highest number of passengers carried are:
- Medellin: over 95,000 passengers.
- Bogota: 92,000 passengers.
- Mexico City: over 79,000 passengers.
- Buenos Aires: nearly 77,000 passengers.
- Lima: 64,000 passengers.
New Routes Drive Expansion
Arajet continues to expand its network of destinations. In October, the airline will inaugurate the Punta Cana-Orlando route, and in November it will begin Santo Domingo-Boston and Punta Cana-Chicago flights.
Furthermore, due to growth and market acceptance in Argentina, it will add direct flights from Santo Domingo to Buenos Aires and from Punta Cana to Cordoba in December, thereby strengthening its presence in the Southern Cone.
With these results, Arajet reaffirms its role as a key player in the aviation development of the Dominican Republic and as a benchmark for the low-cost model in the region. Its sustained growth demonstrates passenger confidence and the country’s potential as a Caribbean air hub.
