Air Canada continues its commitment to enhancing the VIP lounge experience with the opening of its fourth Air Canada Café, this time at Vancouver International Airport. Located in the domestic terminal between gates C46 and C47, the new space offers a grab-and-go service concept with local inspiration, designed for travelers who value comfort, design, and quality cuisine.
Design Inspired by Vancouver and Functionality for Modern Traveler
With an area of 2,142 square feet (approximately 138 square meters), the Café was designed in collaboration with the local firm Smart Design. The architectural concept combines subtle references to aviation—such as the ceiling inspired by an aircraft fuselage—with natural elements that evoke the regional landscape. The lighting fixtures, created by the studio A-N-D Light, simulate river stones, reinforcing the connection with the surroundings.
The space has a capacity for up to 52 customers, who can enjoy productivity-style seating, high-top bars for working, and power outlets at every station, including USB-C ports with sufficient power to charge laptops.
A Menu Celebrating Vancouver’s Culinary Diversity
The food offering at the Air Canada Café in Vancouver pays homage to the city’s cultural richness. Notable options include:
- Overnight oats with matcha and white chocolate, with Japanese inspiration
- Donuts from Lee’s Donuts, a local classic
- Homemade Vietnamese spring rolls (with pork and vegetables)
- Korean-style crispy chicken burger

Furthermore, the menu accommodates various dietary needs, with clear ingredient labeling and allergen information accessible via a QR code, reaffirming Air Canada’s commitment to the inclusion and well-being of its passengers.
The beverage selection includes craft beer and seltzer from Persephone Brewing, a local brewery, as well as nitro cold brew on tap and plant-based alternatives like oat, almond, and soy milk.
Local Art as Part of the Experience
The Café features a series of four original works by Chinese-Canadian artist Scott Sueme, based in Vancouver. His abstract compositions, which integrate shapes, symbols, and text, explore themes such as nature, identity, and a sense of belonging. This collaboration reflects the creative spirit of Western Canada and Air Canada’s commitment to local culture.
Exclusive Access for Eligible Customers
The Air Canada Café in Vancouver is available for passengers traveling in business class, Aeroplan 50K, 75K, and Super Elite members, Star Alliance Gold status customers, and holders of premium co-branded Aeroplan credit cards. Entry is streamlined via boarding pass scan at the eGates.
Expansion of the Air Canada Lounge Network
With this opening, the airline adds a fourth Air Canada Café location: Toronto Pearson, Billy Bishop Toronto (in collaboration with Aspire), Montreal-Trudeau, and now Vancouver. This initiative is part of a modernization plan that includes the addition of more than 500 extra seats in its lounges worldwide by the end of 2025, along with improvements in design, furnishings, and access to power.
“This new space offers a combination of modern comforts and a welcoming atmosphere, celebrating the beauty and spirit of Vancouver,” said Jacqueline Harkness, Vice President of Product and Services at Air Canada. For his part, Benedict Ma, Director of Passenger Experience at YVR, highlighted that the Café “expands the food and beverage offering and provides passengers with an experience that reflects the best of the city.”
