LATAM Airlines and Chilean Pilots’ Union Reach Contract Agreement, Ending Strike
LATAM Airlines and the pilots’ union in Chile have reached a contract agreement, putting an end to a strike that lasted for one week, the union organization reported this Wednesday.
This work stoppage, the first led by the airline’s pilots in nearly thirty years, led to the mass cancellation of flights and significantly disrupted the travel plans of numerous passengers.
A New Contract Valid Until 2028
The union detailed in its statement that the agreement reached with the airline will be valid until the year 2028. Although the specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed, its signing marks the resolution of a labor conflict that had created tensions within the Chilean aviation sector.
