LATAM Airlines Brasil is advancing its seasonal strategy for the Southern Hemisphere winter with a double move in the Argentine market: the launch of a new direct route between São Paulo and Ushuaia and the strengthening of its operations to Bariloche—two of the most sought-after destinations for Brazilian tourism during the snow season.

The initiative aims to consolidate Argentina’s international connectivity from its main regional source market, while seeking to capitalize on the strong winter demand for Patagonia.

São Paulo–Ushuaia: An Unprecedented Connection for the High Season

Subject to government approval, the new São Paulo–Ushuaia route is scheduled to operate seasonally between July 1 and August 31, coinciding with the peak of the winter season in the far south of Argentina.

LATAM plans to operate the service with Airbus A320 aircraft, configured with 174 seats, offering over 12,500 seats during the two months of operation. The frequency will be four weekly flights, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

LATAM Announces Nonstop Flights Between São Paulo and Punta Cana Starting in July

Operational Details of the Route

  • Flight LA8174
    São Paulo → Ushuaia | 08:15 → 14:00
  • Flight LA8175
    Ushuaia → São Paulo | 15:00 → 20:30

Florencia Scardaccione, Commercial Manager of LATAM in Argentina, highlighted the economic impact of the operation: “Each new flight generates more opportunities: more visitors, more local consumption, and more work for Argentines,” she noted when presenting the route.

Bariloche: A Solid Return and Increased Frequencies

In parallel, LATAM confirmed it will resume flights between São Paulo and Bariloche during the winter, following the “successful relaunch” of the previous year.

The route will be active from June 15 to August 30, 2026, with daily flights also operated by Airbus A320-family aircraft, maintaining a capacity of 174 passengers per plane. During July and August, the offering will increase from 7 to 10 weekly frequencies—a clear sign of confidence in the demand from the Brazilian market.

Availability

LATAM announced that the new flights will be available for sale in the coming days, both through its direct channels and via travel agencies.

With this expansion, the company reinforces its position as one of the main players in air connectivity between Brazil and Argentine Patagonia, betting on a winter season where capacity, operational efficiency, and the appeal of the destination play a decisive role.
