Avianca has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to the country by announcing a massive operational deployment for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As the official airline of the Colombian National Team, the carrier will facilitate the transport of fans to tournament venues across North America, strengthening the bond between the sport and national connectivity.
Operational Capacity and Network Reach
For this global-scale event, the airline has established a robust infrastructure designed to meet fan demand. The operation includes:
- More than 3,000 flights scheduled specifically for the duration of the tournament.
- A capacity offering exceeding 600,000 available seats.
- Direct connectivity to 10 of the 16 World Cup host cities.
- Access to the remaining 6 host cities through interline and codeshare agreements with partner airlines.
North American Destinations Covered
Avianca’s network will connect Colombians with strategic hubs across the three host nations:
- United States: Miami, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Dallas, and Houston.
- Mexico: Mexico City and Monterrey.
- Canada: Toronto.

The relationship between Avianca and the Colombian Football Federation (FCF) transcends commercial transportation, marking over 10 years of collaborative work. This partnership seeks to promote national talent and utilize sports as a tool for social cohesion and transformation.

As part of the celebration and support for the national squad, the airline has featured two Airbus A320 aircraft with an exclusive design inspired by the Colombian National Team.
These narrow-body aircraft will carry the fans’ message of encouragement at an altitude of over 30,000 feet, operating under a flexible product model that allows travelers to choose between affordability and premium experiences.
