Eurowings Expands Middle East Network With Nonstop Flights to Baghdad

German carrier Eurowings will significantly bolster its international connectivity during the winter 2026 schedule, highlighted by the addition of Baghdad to its route map and the introduction of its new Premium BIZ Seat on select services.

Strategic Route Expansion for Winter 2026

As part of its winter 2026 expansion plan, Eurowings will widen its operating footprint across six key German bases: Berlin, Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Hamburg, Hanover, and Stuttgart.

These added frequencies and new destinations will connect the German gateways with Northern and Southern Europe, the Canary Islands, Egypt, and the Middle East.

New Baghdad Service and Middle East Consolidation

For the 2026/2027 winter season, the airline will roll out an extensive schedule to the Middle East, highlighted by the launch of scheduled service to Iraq’s capital:

  • Baghdad: Joins the network effective December 10, 2026, featuring 2-weekly nonstop flights from both Berlin and Düsseldorf, complementing existing operations into Iraq.
  • Dubai: Set to receive 14 weekly flights, operated as a daily service from Berlin, 4-weekly flights from Stuttgart, and 3-weekly frequencies from Cologne/Bonn.
  • Jeddah: Will operate twice weekly from Berlin, twice weekly from Stuttgart, and 3-weekly from Cologne/Bonn.
  • Erbil: Direct connectivity from six German airports: Berlin, Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Hamburg, Hanover, and Stuttgart.
  • Tel Aviv: 3-weekly flights connecting with Düsseldorf.
  • Amman: 2-weekly nonstop flights linking Stuttgart with the Jordanian capital.
  • Beirut: Served via a multi-origin network spanning Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Prague, Salzburg, and Stockholm.

Airbus A320neo Debuts New Premium BIZ Seat

Alongside the network expansion, the carrier will elevate its onboard premium experience starting December 1, 2026, with the entry into service of the Premium BIZ Seat.

The new hard product will be fitted across all Dubai flights, as well as on selected high-demand routes to London Heathrow, Palma de Mallorca, and Malaga.

Key Features of the Premium BIZ Seat Cabin:

  • 2-2 Seating Configuration: Eight dedicated seats positioned across the first two rows of the Airbus A320neo.
  • Enhanced Personal Space: Wider seats, generous extra legroom, and an increased recline angle.
  • Optimized Ergonomics: Integrated adjustable footrests tailored for greater passenger comfort.

Through this winter schedule and the launch of its upgraded cabin product, Eurowings aims to strengthen its market share on routes linking Central Europe with the Middle East, diversifying its portfolio across both emerging travel markets and high-yield business and leisure corridors.
