Venezuela will resume international flights to at least three countries in December.

Venezuela will once again receive commercial flights from the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Turkey in December, after seven consecutive months of air operations ban, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro promised this Thursday.

“Already by December we will have flights from the Dominican Republic, it is already established, we will have flights from Mexico; we will have the direct flight from Turkey,” said Maduro during a virtual meeting of the Sao Paulo Forum.

Maduro did not provide details on those flights or when others will be reactivated.

Until next November 12, a restriction on commercial flights in Venezuela is in effect due to the covid-19 pandemic, a ban that has been in effect since March.
