The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom reported on Friday that it has fined British Airways 20 million pounds (22 million euros) for failing to protect the personal and financial data of more than 400,000 customers, Reuters reported.

“Its lack of action was unacceptable and affected hundreds of thousands of people, which may have caused some anxiety and anguish as a result,” said ICO about a cyber attack that the airline suffered in 2018, adding that it was the largest fine ever imposed in the history of the regulator.
