Wingo continues to expand its fleet with arrival of a new aircraft.
Wingo received a new aircraft that joined the fleet in February. In this way, the company incorporates an eighth aircraft in order to increase its flight offer and add routes and frequencies to domestic and international destinations at low fares, without sacrificing quality.
Wingo’s new aircraft is a Boeing 737-800 Next Generation with capacity for 186 passengers, which will allow it to continue democratizing air transportation. Thus, Colombians will be able to discover and rediscover more international destinations such as Santo Domingo, a city to which the airline will begin flying directly from Medellín on March 28.

“The arrival of two aircraft in less than six months is the result of our sustainable expansion; continuing to grow in the midst of a pandemic is a truly remarkable achievement. In fact, welcoming a new member of the family translates into a 62% percent increase in available seat capacity by 2022,” said Jorge Jiménez, Wingo’s Director of Sales, Marketing and Distribution.
With this aircraft, the low cost airline’s fleet reaches 8 aircraft and 2 more are expected to arrive later this year, as part of Wingo’s sustainable expansion plan throughout the region, which today totals 20 international and 9 domestic routes operated from Colombia.
