KLM makes its first Santiago-Amsterdam flight with CO2 compensation
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced that this Wednesday flight KL702 took off from Santiago to Amsterdam, the airline’s first flight in Chile to offset the CO2 emissions of all passengers, taking a leading role in creating a more sustainable future for aviation.
The CO2 offsetting will take place through a contribution to the “CO2OL Tropical Mix” reforestation project, which has been supported by KLM for several years.

This flight was operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on its return to Santiago, reconnecting Chile with Buenos Aires and Amsterdam.
It should be noted that the Boeing 787 Dreamliner also offers operational and environmental advantages by consuming less fuel compared to previous generations of aircraft, as well as a 20% reduction in CO2 and noise emissions.
