“During its 100-year operating history, Qantas, the world’s oldest continuously operating airline, amassed an astonishing safety record and is now accepted as the most experienced in the industry,” AirlineRatings said.
“Our 20 safest airlines of 2023 are always at the forefront of safety innovation, operational excellence and the launch of new aircraft such as the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787,” added the specialized portal.
In order to select the safest airlines, the analysis included accidents over 5 years, serious incidents over two years, audits by aviation governing bodies, age of the fleet, expert analysis of pilot training and COVID protocols, among others.
AirlineRatings was launched in June 2013 and rates the safety, in-flight product and COVID-19 protocol compliance of 385 airlines using its unique seven-star rating system.
