Madrid-Barajas Airport mobilized over 6 million passengers in October, a 6.3% increase
Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport closed October 2025 with a total of 6,034,971 passengers, setting a new all-time record for this month. This figure represents a 6.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
Of the registered passengers, 6,023,573 were commercial travelers. Within this group, 4,606,663 traveled on international flights, representing a 9% growth compared to October 2024. In contrast, 1,416,910 passengers traveled on domestic flights, recording a 1.7% decline.
Increase in Air Operations
During the month, 38,108 aircraft movements were recorded, representing a 7.7% growth compared to October of the previous year. Of these operations, 38,026 were commercial flights, divided into 27,051 international (a 10.2% increase) and 10,975 domestic (a 2% increase).
Air Cargo: Record Figures
Cargo traffic also reached unprecedented levels. In October, 80,497 tons of cargo were handled, equivalent to a 10.7% increase compared to the same month in 2024. This amount represents 59.5% of the total air cargo transported across all airports in Aena’s network in Spain.

Cumulative Balance: January to October 2025
In the first ten months of the year, the Madrid airport registered 57,047,587 passengers, representing a 2.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
In that same interval, 358,763 operations were performed, 2.4% more than the previous year.
For its part, cargo transport accumulated 684,805 tons, marking a 9.5% growth compared to the same period the previous year.
Consolidation as a Strategic Hub
The October data confirms the sustained growth trend that Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport has been experiencing in recent months. In both passenger traffic and cargo volume, the airport continues to consolidate its position as one of the main air connectivity hubs in Europe.
