Copa Airlines and Wingo announced the temporary suspension of their operations to and from Caracas, corresponding to Thursday, December 4, and Friday, December 5, 2025. The measure is in response to intermittent issues detected in one of the aircraft’s navigation signals, identified by pilots this past Wednesday. The companies stated that the situation did not compromise operational safety but opted for a preventive pause while the technical evaluation progresses.
The airlines explained that the finding prompted an immediate review. The technical team continues to analyze the cause of the irregular behavior and will provide updates within the next 24 hours. The companies seek to prioritize the protection of passengers and crew while determining the origin of the affected signal.
Options Available for Passengers
Copa Airlines and Wingo have enabled several alternatives for those with flights scheduled on the mentioned dates. Each passenger may choose the option that best fits their particular situation.

No-Fee Changes
The first option allows changes to the date or origin and destination within the same region at no additional cost. The airline indicated that these requests will be processed flexibly to minimize inconvenience.
Credit for Future Travel
The second alternative consists of canceling the itinerary and retaining the ticket value in the form of a credit. This amount will be available for use in a future reservation.
Refund
The third option includes the refund of unused or partially used tickets. Requests can be managed directly on both airlines’ websites.
The companies reiterated their commitment to safety and asked travelers to stay tuned for updates through official channels. They also reminded that any changes or additional announcements will be published as soon as the technical analysis advances.
