Volotea Resumes Its Menorca-Verona Route Starting in August

Volotea has announced the resumption of its direct operations between Menorca and Verona starting in August 2026. This connection aims to capture the high demand from the Italian market during the peak summer season, consolidating the airline’s presence in the Balearic archipelago.

Operational Details and Frequencies

To ensure efficient connectivity during the high season, the airline has structured a flight schedule specifically designed for leisure tourism:

  • Launch Date: August 2nd.
  • Frequencies: Two weekly flights, operating specifically on Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Projected Capacity: The company will put approximately 7,000 seats up for sale.
  • Flight Volume: Nearly 40 operations are expected to be carried out during the route’s activity period this year.

This decision is a response to the historical success of the route and the recognition of Menorca as a priority destination for Italian travelers. According to Gabriel Schmilovich, Volotea’s Chief Strategy Officer, this route not only reinforces international connectivity but also brings the Balearic Islands closer to an audience that demands this destination year after year.

Volotea’s Expansion at Menorca Airport

With the addition of Verona, Volotea increases its offering to a total of 15 routes from the Balearic island for this summer, distributed as follows:

Connectivity by Market:

  • Spain (5 destinations): Bilbao, San Sebastian, Zaragoza, Santander, and Asturias.
  • France (7 destinations): Nantes, Bordeaux, Lyon, Lille, Brest, Montpellier, and Marseille.
  • Germany (2 destinations): Dusseldorf and Cologne, operated under a codeshare agreement with the airline Eurowings.
  • Italy (1 destination): Verona.

Sustained Growth and 2026 Projections

Since beginning operations in Menorca in 2012, Volotea has transported more than 1.2 million passengers through the end of 2025. Projections for the coming year show an upward trend:
