LATAM Airlines has been recognized for the third time as the airline with the “Best Cabin Service in South America” at the 2026 APEX Best Awards, consolidating a year of sustained accolades for the company’s passenger experience.
A Global Recognition Backed by Passengers
The award was presented on June 10 during the Future Travel Experience (FTE) EMEA, Ancillary & Retailing Event, held at the Royal Dublin Society in Dublin, Ireland. This distinction reaffirms the high regard that users themselves have for the airline in the international market.
The Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) awards are notable for being based exclusively on passenger feedback:
- Anonymous Evaluation: Ratings are collected directly through Concur’s TripIt, the world’s most widely used travel organizing application.
- Study Scope: For the 2026 edition, passengers rated more than one million flights spanning over 600 airlines worldwide.
- Efficient Methodology: Travelers evaluate flights using a five-star scale in an optimized format that allows the survey to be completed in less than 15 seconds.
- Subcategories Analyzed: The platform measures five key inflight aspects: seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment, and Wi-Fi.
This achievement in cabin service complements the recognition for Best Inflight Entertainment (IFE) in South America received by the carrier in February of this year.

A Constantly Evolving Travel Experience
This award reflects the continuous improvements the airline has implemented across its inflight product, ranging from cabin interior redesigns to the gastronomic offering, amenities, and entertainment.
New Premium Business: South American Identity in the Air
In December 2025, the company launched its new Premium Business experience, representing a complete overhaul of the cabin inspired by the group’s South American roots.
- Essence of the Continent: Every detail, from the color palette to the service rituals, seeks to reflect the warmth, richness, and sophistication of Latin America.
- World-Class Hospitality: The product combines the precision of global service standards with the distinct rhythm and identity of the region.
Gastronomy with Local Identity and Cutting-Edge Flair
The current culinary offering fuses the continent’s natural and cultural diversity with avant-garde culinary techniques, prioritizing seasonality and local ingredients.
The central pillar of this strategy is the Sabores que Transportan (Flavors that Transport) program:
- Emerging Chefs: Every three months, a new dish designed by emerging South American chefs is introduced.
- Long-Haul Routes: This culinary experience is available on long-haul flights departing from Chile, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia, bringing the stories and flavors of different regions directly on board.
The triple recognition at the 2026 APEX Best Awards validates the airline group’s strategy of constant investment and personalization of the inflight experience. Through high-impact initiatives such as the renovation of its Premium Business class and the consolidation of the Sabores que Transportan culinary program, the airline not only elevates its hospitality standards but also proudly projects South America’s cultural identity onto the global aviation stage.
