Copa Airlines was awarded for its focus on its fleet strategy and the creation of the Hub of the Americas, located at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, which connects destinations throughout Latin America, including secondary markets, with the rest of the continent and the Caribbean.

The Decade of Airline Excellence Awards were launched this year by FlightGlobal, Airline Business and the civil aviation practice of Korn Ferry, the world’s largest provider of human capital solutions, in place of the Airline Strategy Awards, which will return in 2021. The winners were selected by an independent panel of industry experts. In addition to the Latin American winner, the Decade of Airline Excellence Awards recognition was also given to airlines in the categories of Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America and the Middle East.
