There are a total of 1,392,040 instant rewards during the four-week promotion that runs through May 3.
In addition to the instant prizes and offers, members can also earn daily entries into a sweepstakes where 40 winners will earn 1 million AAdvantage miles. The second place winner will win a two-night travel package for four to Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Florida.
When the AAdvantage program began on May 1, 1981, membership was by invitation only and rewards included a first-class ticket to any destination American flew to. Today, the program has more than 115 million members, of which 144,000 have been active since the first year.
“AAdvantage continues to be the most customer-friendly airline loyalty program. Throughout our first 40 years, it has been our privilege to reward members for their continued loyalty to American with innovative benefits, unique partnerships and an evolving program that is made for every customer,” said Rick Elieson, President of the AAdvantage program.
