New Equair airline postpones start of operations until January.
The new Ecuadorian airline Equair informed this Tuesday that the start of its operations, scheduled for Wednesday, December 22, will be postponed to January 10, 2022.
The airline said in a statement that “as a result of the effort to control the spread of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, it has taken the decision, in conjunction with the Ecuadorian Aeronautical Authority, to suspend the final stage of certification of the airline and postpone the start of operations”.

The airline said that one of the reasons for taking the decision and avoid spreading the virus is because within the certification team formed by Equair and the aviation authority “there have been several cases of Covid in the last 48 hours”.
Finally, he pointed out that all passengers who had purchased tickets will be contacted to be relocated and not affect their scheduled activities.
