The Civil Aeronautics reported this Friday that between January 1 and June 30 of this year, four new operators entered the Colombian air market and 62 new air routes were approved.
Among the new operators are LATAM Ecuador, Plus Ultra, Volaris Costa Rica and Sky Airlines Peru.
National Operation
Regarding the routes that were approved by the Civil Aeronautics during this first semester, these connect to the national territory in the following way:
Wingo operates the routes from Bogotá to Armenia, Villavicencio, Yopal, Ibagué and Neiva. Likewise, the Armenia – Santa Marta – Armenia route.

Avianca operates ten new routes that connect Bogotá with: Ipiales, Popayán, Yopal, Sincelejo, Florencia and Villavicencio. Likewise, to Bucaramanga with Cali and Santa Marta; to Cali with Cúcuta and Riohacha, and to Cartagena with Cúcuta, Medellín and Riohacha.
For its part, EasyFly operates two routes from Bogotá to San José del Guaviare and Puerto Inírida.
The Ultra Air airline was authorized to operate on the routes from Bogotá to Cali, Cartagena, Santa Marta and San Andrés; Likewise, the connection between Medellín, Cartagena and Santa Marta; and Santa Marta with Pereira; and, to Cartagena with Pereira.
International Operation
In what has to do with the international operation, the approved routes were:
To the Air Caribe airline (cargo) three routes that connect Bogotá with Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), Miami (United States) and San Juan de Puerto Rico.
Likewise, the airline Viva Aerobus was approved for three routes from: Mexico City-Medellín, Cancún-Bogotá and Guadalajara-Bogotá.

Two routes were approved for Wingo: Bogotá – Valencia (Venezuela) and Medellín – Havana (Cuba).
On the other hand, the airline Avianca obtained the operating permit for ten routes: Bucaramanga – Miami; Cartagena-New York; Medellin–Orlando; Santa Marta-Miami and Pereira-Miami. The connection between Cali and Mexico City; Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia) – Bogotá and Bogotá – Caracas.
Additionally, the company Avianca Costa Rica was approved for two routes that connect San José with Cartagena and Medellín.
Copa Airlines was approved for the Panama – Santa Marta – Panama route.
Likewise, four routes were approved for the company Fast Colombia (Viva): Medellín – Sao Pablo (Brazil); Medellin-Buenos Aires (Argentina); Bogota-Buenos Aires (Argentina); Cartagena-Mexico City.
The operator JetSmart Colombia was approved for the route that connects Santiago de Chile (Chile) with Pereira.
LATAM Ecuador was approved for the Quito – Bogotá route.
Finally, for international passenger operations, the San José – Bogotá – San José route was approved for Volaris Costa Rica.
Load Operation
Regarding air cargo transport, the Civil Aeronautics approved three international routes to Air Canada. These are: Montreal – Bogotá – Montreal; Montreal – Havana – Bogota – Montreal; and Toronto-Bogota-Montreal.
