LATAM Airlines announced Thursday the restart of its direct flight between the cities of Antofagasta (Chile) and Lima (Peru), one of the group’s main hubs and a renowned historical and gastronomic center.

After two years of suspension, the route has been re-scheduled with two flights per week – Tuesdays and Fridays – that will link the regional capital with one of the most important tourist destinations in Latin America, reducing by at least 3 hours the current itinerary from Antofagasta to the capital of Peru, and from there to other destinations in LATAM’s network in North, Central and South America.

LATAM awarded “Leading Airline in South America” for seventh consecutive year.

“We view with great optimism the resumption of this route, connecting in a more direct, safe and efficient way the Antofagasta Region with the capital of Peru and from there with the world thanks to the connectivity of our hub at Jorge Chávez Airport,” said Constanza Pizarro, Corporate Communications Manager of LATAM Airlines Group.

The flight will be operated with Airbus 320 aircraft, with capacity for 174 passengers in Economy and Premium Economy cabins, where they will be able to experience a gastronomic offer that promotes the use of snacks and local raw materials, in line with the group’s sustainability efforts. In addition to this, there is a wide range of in-flight entertainment content.
