Panama’s Copa Airlines announced on Tuesday that it will temporarily suspend its flights to and from Venezuela, after the Ministry of Transportation of the South American country announced the suspension of all commercial flights between the two nations as of 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

In a statement, Copa Airlines regretted the inconvenience that this measure, beyond the company’s control, may cause to its passengers’ travel plans and said it will do everything possible to lessen its impact.

In order to provide assistance to those who have flights scheduled to and from Venezuela after July 31, the airline offers the following alternatives:

  • A change of date and/or a change of origin/destination within the same region at no additional charge.
  • Trip cancellation while maintaining the value of the ticket in credit for a future travel date.
  • Refund of unused and partially used tickets. You can manage your request at www.copaair.com

Regarding the latter option, Copa Airlines indicated that, due to the volume of passengers affected by this measure, the refund process will take longer than usual.
