The Brazilian airline Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes said on Monday that it would resume flights with the Boeing 737 MAX on commercial routes in its national network starting Wednesday, December 9.

Gol also said it expects the seven 737 MAX aircraft in its current fleet to be authorized to return to full operations by the end of December, Reuters reported.
The announcement comes less than a week after American Airlines made the first flight with the 737 MAX with the media on board, as the airlines try to prove to passengers that the plane is safe after the flight ban that lasted 20 months.

After the ban was lifted, American Airlines had said it would return MAX to passenger flights by the end of 2020, with a daily flight between Miami and New York City.
Gol, the only Brazilian operator of the 737 MAX, said the plane’s first flights would be on routes to and from the company’s operations center in Sao Paulo.
