New Brazilian airline Itapemirim starts operations.
This Tuesday, the new Brazilian airline Itapemirim Transportes Aéreos will officially start operations with its inaugural flight between São Paulo’s Guarulhos airport and the country’s capital, Brasilia.

After this first flight, the first phase of operations will begin, serving eight cities: São Paulo, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Porto Seguro, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Curitiba.
Once completed, this phase is expected to be carried out with ten Airbus A320 aircraft, all with a single configuration of up to 162 passengers.
The airline estimates it will operate 35 routes by June 2022.

The Itapemirim Group has been in existence for 67 years with an outstanding track record in the road transport sector connecting 2,700 cities in 19 Brazilian states through just over 300 buses.
The launching of Itapemirim in the air sector is part of the expansion plan of the business group, which plans to connect the airports and these cities through a hybrid system of airplanes and buses, by road and air with the same quality.
