Copa Airlines announced this Thursday the expansion of its destination network in Argentina with a new route to Tucumán and the resumption of flights to Salta. Starting in September 2025, the Panamanian airline will offer three weekly flights to each destination, enhancing connectivity between northwestern Argentina and the rest of the continent.
Tucumán: History, Nature, and Gastronomy
The province of Tucumán is renowned for its historical significance as the birthplace of Argentina’s independence and for its stunning landscapes in the Calchaquí Valleys. Copa Airlines will begin operating this new route on September 24.
Flights will depart from Panama City on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 4:35 p.m. (local time), arriving in Tucumán at 12:34 a.m. the following day (local time).
From Teniente Benjamin Matienzo International Airport, flights will take off on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 1:50 a.m. (local time), landing in Tocumen at 5:35 a.m. (local time).

Salta: Culture, Adventure, and the Tren a las Nubes
Salta, known as “Salta la Linda” (Salta the Beautiful), stands out for its well-preserved colonial center, rich culture, and breathtaking geography. One of its main attractions is the Tren a las Nubes (Train to the Clouds), which traverses the Andes Mountains at over 4,000 meters above sea level. Copa Airlines will resume flights to this destination on September 23.
Flights will depart from Panama City on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 4:40 p.m. (local time), arriving in Salta at 12:24 a.m. the following day (local time).
From Salta, flights will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 2:01 a.m. (local time), landing in Tocumen at 5:30 a.m. (local time).
Expansion and Growth of Copa Airlines
With the addition of Tucumán and the return to Salta, Copa Airlines strengthens its presence in Argentina, now serving six destinations in the country: Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario, Mendoza, Tucumán, and Salta. Globally, the airline expands its network to 88 destinations in 32 countries across the Americas and the Caribbean.
