JetBlue to suspend flights to Bogota, Quito and Lima as of June
JetBlue on Tuesday unveiled plans to significantly alter its route network, including canceling many routes and even pulling out of some markets altogether, following the failed merger with Spirit Airlines.
In an internal memo sent to its employees, Jetblue informed that as of June 13 it will end its services to Kansas City, Bogota (Colombia), Quito (Ecuador) and Lima (Peru), claiming that the routes mentioned were not profitable.
Service to Kansas City operated from New York (JFK), while service to the three South American cities was from Fort Lauderdale.

The airline is also significantly reducing its presence in Los Angeles. As of June 13, Jetblue will end flights from LAX to Cancun, Las Vegas, Liberia, Miami, Puerto Vallarta, Reno, San Francisco and Seattle.
On the same day, it will cancel nonstop service to Atlanta, Austin, Nashville, New Orleans and Salt Lake City from Fort Lauderdale, and the Tampa-Aguadilla, New York (JFK)-Detroit and Orlando-Salt Lake City routes.
The airline stated that these cuts will allow it to redeploy its fleet to better performing routes from its main cities. It also indicated that these cuts would help its operations while it has to deal with Pratt & Whitney engine problems that have forced it to ground a portion of its aircraft.
